FOMUSO BLESSING NABILA

In addition to being Advice Project Media's Cameroon Program Manager, Fomuso Blessing Nabila is the Country Director for Gender Danger, a non-profit organization in Cameroon that seeks to fight against violence against women in all its forms. Blessing offers peace building services to women and grassroots groups in her country and helps them make an impact in their local communities by finding ways they can be involved in decision-making processes and helping them to find their voices and transform their lives.

 

Blessing helps to organize and lead the Advice Project's Media, Writing, and Empowerment Classes for teen girls in Cameroon, and she also participated and helped lead the 2015 Advice Project Leadership and Empowerment Summit in Tambopata, Peru as well as the 2016 Advice Project Filmmaking Workshop in Bamenda and Bawock, Cameroon. In all her endeavors, she dreams of a transformed society where there is respect for human dignity, equality, and lasting peace. It is Blessing's commitment to this transformation that makes her such an important member of our team.

Blessing attended the Pan African Institute for Development West Africa, where she acquired training and skills in Peace, Gender, and Human Rights. She is holder of a Bachelor of Laws Degree and a Master’s Degree in Peace and International Relations. She has worked as a support staff for several non-governmental organizations in Cameroon that deal with with human rights and issues pertaining to Women and Girls. In all her work, Blessing has emerged as a good team builder who is excellent at managing intra-group conflicts.

Blessing is a fun-loving person who loves traveling, singing, cooking, and putting smiles on the faces of everyone around her with her sense of humor.
